It really doesn't matter if your building has surveillance if some moron keeps leaving all of the doors unlocked

This is what's left after some numbskulls broke into walked into our unlocked garage. One of our neighbors keeps leaving the street-side door unlocked -- and took the two newer bikes, our helmets, locks, and the front wheel of Joy's bike (which was locked to mine). Video footage shows them breaking down the bikes instead of cutting the locks. Go figure.

Luckily, I still have the receipts and I have renter's insurance. We did everything we were supposed to prevent theft. Doesn't matter if your neighbors practically invite the thieves in. BPD has been pretty good about it too, but I don't think I will ever see Ariel again.
