Wordless Wednesday: Season 4 - Moves Like Jagger

Wordless Wednesday: 4 Hours is not enough

Wordless Wednesday: Loc'd

First Day of MIDDLE School

It's another one of those days when I swear I just gave birth, but here she is, 11 years later and entering 6th grade. Wasn't she just in kindergarten? And why is 6th the beginning of middle school now? It should be the last year of elementary.

End of day results:  She claims she has three of the best teachers in the school (she likes her teachers and classmates, this is a bonus). She got violin instead of Cadet Corps (thank goodness!)Math is soooooo basic, but I still had to double-check that she didn't miss any prime numbers and tomorrow's homework is composite numbers. She made friends (she's an introvert at first, so this is important).I am grateful that there wasn't any sort of meltdown over not being able to go to school with her BFF's from elementary. And now that we have the rest of the school supply/clothing shopping out of the way I am going to pass out so we can start all over again.
Who's bright idea was it to start school at 7:45 am????

Menu Plan Monday: Back To School

Summer isn't over! What do you mean school is starting tomorrow?!?!

That's me crying, not my daughter. I actually miss the days when school started the Monday after Labor Day. That makes sense.

My daughter is mostly excited that school is starting even though in the last three weeks there was a major SNAFU and I had to pull a miracle out of my ass (with help from the The Teen (who is now the the College Student, stop growing already!) and her dad. But she's enrolled, excited, school clothes and supplies for the first day obtained and I was good and planned the menu yesterday morning so the Teen/College Student could go grocery shopping for me today (Thank goodness for Fresh and EasyCoupons!) because I spent yesterday re-arranging furniture, buying new seat cushions for the dining table and getting a migraine. Then starting 5 loads of laundry. No, I am no insane. Just been busy.

And so .... here's dinner. Breakfast will consist of either cold cereal or eggs and bacon. I…

Menu Plan Monday: Reunion Cleanse

I was looking for a few new recipes over at PaleOMG (like OMG, best desserts for this plan!) and realized that I do sort of cleanse on Mondays after the weekend. Though, after our amazing reunion weekend, we started last night with stuff I pulled from the freezer.

Sunday: Tilapia with green beans and tomatoes -- this recipe is so quick and easy, we love it. My mom and I had tilapia, the kids had Cajun Salmon.
Monday: Curried Turkey Cutlets with Apricots - (we usually end up using turkey patties, but everything else is the same) with green beans, carrots, cauliflower and broccoli.
Tuesday: Chicken Salad. Might as well use some of those apples I brought back from NorCal
Wednesday: Mahi Mahi Grilled Fish Tacos
Thursday: Steak Salad
Friday: Turkey and Spinach Stuffed Sweet Potatos - I love PaleOMG because she introduced me to sweet potato brownies. I can still have brownies!!!
