Quiver Full

The good Lord has seen fit to bless me with two children. 7 years and 51 weeks apart. Why did Tim and I think that an 8 year difference would be good? Even more, why did God think it would be funny to have them a week apart?

Weight Loss

you know what sucks? Since stopping my Zoloft I am sleeping a little better, but in 3 weeks I have gained about 15 pounds. I may just have to buy a scale and put some effort into losing weight. Used to be that I just thought about losing weight and it would happen. Or I could go back on the Zoloft, but then I wouldn't sleep well. Catch-22. And yes, I can already hear it from some of you. But I feel best at 135-145 and I am almost 25 pounds over 145. Talk about junk in the trunk! Back to work.

Yummy! I can't wait! I think I have a thing for geeky guys :) By Robert Masello Published: April 8, 2007 ON THE WEB When you’re tracking down Spider-Man—a.k.a. Tobey Maguire—you expect a little intrigue. In his office just above Sunset Boulevard, Maguire has no sign on the door—only an intercom button. Press it, and you are buzzed into the hushed lair of the 31-year-old actor who has laid claim to what is arguably the richest superhero role in Hollywood history. Just don’t expect a superhero entrance. “Hi,” he says, shuffling into the conference room with an armful of cobalt-blue water bottles. “ Want one of these?” (In Hollywood, the offering of bottled water is a ritual akin to passing the Native American peace pipe.) In person, Maguire is slight—maybe 5 feet 8 or so—and with his thick mop of neat brown hair, he will probably always remind you of a kid who has just been to the barbershop. The white sweatshirt, jeans and sneakers do nothing to offset that impression. But talking t

Good things come out of MySpace

happy happy joy joy!!!! Another good Friday. I finally get home and check my email for the first time all week and see a name I thought I would NEVER see again though I have been searching off and on for years. Have you ever had a good friend, and then life gets in the way, and you lose touch, and wonder "What ever happened to ...?" and then you get an email (OK, MySpace message) ... and wow! it's not spam! It's THAT person and everything starts to get right with the world again. Especially when you find out that person has been missing you, too. Good friends are INCREDIBLY hard to find and harder to keep. Don't lose 'em, and if you do, keep looking for them till you find them. So glad to have this person back in my life.

Baby Blues : On Turning 5

BBC NEWS | UK | Wales | Fossilised trees mystery solved

Their timing is off, but otherwise a very cool story (yeah, in my old age I am becoming a young earth proponent) BBC NEWS | UK | Wales | Fossilised trees mystery solved : "A Cardiff fossil expert has identified a pair of 385-million-year-old trees, thought to be among the world's oldest. American researchers found fossilised remains in New York state two years ago, but their identity was unknown. They called in Dr Christopher Berry from Cardiff University, who confirmed the remains are from the Genus Wattieza, a fern-like plant which formed earth's first known forests. Dr Berry described the discovery as a 'spectacular' find. The upright stumps of fossilised trees were first uncovered after a flash flood in Gilboa, New York, more than a century ago. But until two further fossils were found two years ago, which had fallen sideways with their trunk, branches, twigs and crown still intact, no-one knew what the entire trees looked like."

On Turning 5

This morning our daughter's daycare provider told me that she had gone up to them and said "Jerry and Kathy, my birthday party is Sunday, but I won't be here. So you can ship my present to me." As I've often told my wife, our daughter is too smart for our own good :) On the way to daycare this morning, I told Joy that her brother had just turned 5 (the age she turns on Sunday) when I met him. Her response? "That means mommy was a single parent..." "Yes, mommy was a single parent when I met her." "But how did she have a baby without being married?" ... See my previous comment about said daughter's intelligence and it's affect on our own good. Talk about opening a can of worms...I told her we would discuss that at a later date (like when she's 70 or so, I think) :)

All Men Will Know - Acappella Video

Got the link to this in the newsletter I get from Acappella Ministries by KeithLancaster on Mon 02 Apr 2007 05:00 AM CDT | Permanent Link I wrote this song while we were in Japan with Acappella's tour. It was inspired by John 13:34, 35 and other words of Jesus. Ryan Smith did an outstanding job of putting all this together. Lacey Fulton (fiance to Acappella's Zac George) is the lead character, whom you will recognize on the Glorious God cover as well.

Here we go again ...

It's not fair!!! I had a good day! But the sounds are starting to get to me, and the headache is coming back. Next will be light and nausea I bet. GRRRRRR

Yahoo! Mail goes to infinity and beyond - Yodel Anecdotal

Let the competition begin! March 27th, 2007 at 5:01 pm by John Kremer, Yahoo! Mail In Trends & News, Cool Stuff All you can eat LiamAs Yahoo! Mail approaches its 10-year anniversary, I’m the lucky one who gets to announce that we will begin offering everyone unlimited email storage starting in May 2007. To mark the occasion, I checked in with David Nakayama, our group vice president of engineering, for some perspective on this milestone. In case that name doesn’t ring a bell, he’s the developer of RocketMail, one of the world’s first webmail products, which Yahoo! acquired and relaunched as Yahoo! Mail in 1997." I've had a Yahoo account since before they were Yahoo, they were Geocities. 12 years. I remember being stoked that I had 6MB of storage for email. And didn't really need to delete it. And then came SPAM ....

Queen Of Messaging

MUWAHAHAHHHA  only because I can't talk at work and it's easier to text ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Tim Sargent Date: Apr 3, 2007 3:55 PM Hi dear -       [snip]      However, you have well and truly trounced our son in messaging this month - 700 vs his 331.  I'm so pathetic in text messaging that I'm barely even on the radar scope - a whopping 106 :)       Maybe I should make a color paper crown and award it to the person who has the most text messages each month :)  [snip]   Tim     -- Annette Sargent "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea."  -Robert A.
