Brain Candy for Firefly Fans

The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Wayfarers, #1)
The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

It was really hard to not make constant comparisons between the characters in this story and some of my favorite Firefly characters and other misfit crews, Star Trek: TNG and DS9 included. Ohan was a nice surprise and it was a fun romp, but there wasn't much character development. Each main character came off as an extreme stereotype. The POV changed enough that it was hard to care about anyone or the story as a whole. I think from the intro setup and blurb I was expecting a single POV adventure/travelogue instead of the story that evolved.
